If you visited Myrtle Beach prior to 2006, then you likely remember the Myrtle Beach Pavilion. While this beloved Myrtle Beach landmark no longer exists, there are still plenty of amusement parks near Myrtle Beach that your whole family can—and will—enjoy! From high-flying thrill rides to 200–foot tall Ferris wheels, Myrtle Beach has the best amusement parks!

Family Kingdom Amusement Park | 300 S Ocean Boulevard

Family Kingdom Amusement Park is one of the top amusement parks in Myrtle Beach. Plus, it’s right next door to our resort! Pick a day during your family vacation and take the whole gang to Family Kingdom for some family-friendly thrill rides, fair-style concessions, and endless games and prizes.

GENERAL INFO & HOURS

Family Kingdom is just a 3-minute drive or an 11-minute walk from Sea Crest Resort. It has all the makings of a family fun-filled adventure with tons of rides, carnival-style games and prizes, live entertainment, an arcade and much more! The park’s hours of operation change each season. Check the calendar to see the full schedule during your Myrtle Beach vacation. If you’re bringing little ones with you, stroller rentals are available for $10. On-site parking is $9 per vehicle.

TICKET INFORMATION

Admission to the park is always FREE. If you’d rather sit and watch while the kids enjoy, it won’t cost you a dime to walk around the park. All-day unlimited ride wristbands are available for $32.95 (plus tax). You can even leave the park and return later if you choose. If you only want to ride a few rides, each ride typically costs 3-5 tickets with individual tickets costing $1.15 (plus tax). You can also buy tickets by the booklet if you’d like.

RIDES

From classic coasters to kiddie rides, Family Kingdom boasts more than 38 rides for the whole family to enjoy! Crash into mom and dad in the demolition derby-style bumper cars. Cool-down on the log flume, a water coaster everyone will enjoy. Experience a 100-foot free fall on the slingshot ride! There’s also a tilt-a-whirl, carousel and train ride that are appropriate for all ages. Don’t worry, Family Kingdom has plenty of kiddie rides for your littlest thrill-seekers! Kids can ride motorcycles, fire trucks, big rigs, airplanes and even famous Nascar race cars. There’s even mini bumper cars, a kiddie roller coaster, a mini Ferris wheel and kid-sized swings.

GAMES & ENTERTAINMENT

If you like carnival games, you’re going to love the games at Family Kingdom Amusement Park! With over a dozen games like basketball toss and water balloon races, you’re bound to win a prize if you give one a shot!
There is also tons of entertainment to keep smiles on faces while walking from ride to ride. Family Kingdom has clowns, jugglers, face painters and balloon artists all over the park to provide free entertainment all day long.

SkyWheel in Myrtle Beach | 1110 N Ocean Boulevard

The SkyWheel is one of the tallest amusement park rides in Myrtle Beach, towering nearly 200 feet above the Atlantic Ocean. This family-friendly Ferris wheel boasts 42 glass-walled gondolas giving riders a 360-degree view of the ocean, the boulevard and the beautiful City of Myrtle Beach.

Winter, summer, spring or fall, these climate-controlled gondolas give visitors and locals alike a one-of-a-kind experience. Gondolas seat two to six people, and certified service animals are always welcome. Tickets range from $12 – $16 per ride with annual passes and VIP tickets available. Free Fall Thrill Park | 1201 N Ocean Boulevard

Just 1.6 miles from our oceanfront resort, you’ll find the Free Fall Thrill Park. This small but mighty beachside amusement park in Myrtle Beach features five high-speed, gravity-defying, adrenaline-inducing rides. The Slingshot sends riders more than 300 feet in the air at speeds up to 100 mph. Riders will feel the force of 3.6 Gs as they twirl around and around on Air Strike.

You’re sure to let out a scream as you free fall 140 feet on the Sky Fall ride. The Sun Dance twists and turns, sending riders upside down and around. The Shoot Star is an extreme version of the swings you loved to ride as a child. No matter which ride you choose, you’re guaranteed to enjoy a great photo opportunity with the family. The Myrtle Beach Funplex | 1405 N Ocean Boulevard

The newest amusement park in Myrtle Beach is The Funplex. Featuring seven family-friendly rides and an on-site bar and grill, this oceanfront park will keep you and your kids busy for a full day during your Myrtle Beach vacation. Admission is always free, with each ride costing 5-10 credits, which can be easily purchased and loaded on a reusable Fun Card. Riders can also purchase an all-day pass ($36) or a one-week pass ($99) for unlimited rides during their visit. Looking for a sweet treat, refreshing drink or delectable bit during your visit? Wondering where to park near the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and all the amazing amusement park rides along the Boulevard? Pavilion Nostalgia Park | 1171 Celebrity Circle

Even though the Pavilion amusement park you once knew is closed, many rides that once filled the park now reside at Broadway at the Beach in Pavilion Park’s two mini-parks. Next door to WonderWorks, visitors will find the Pavilion Park Fun Park. This mini-amusement park in Myrtle Beach features rides appropriate for toddlers and elementary-age kids. You’ll also find the Broadway 360 standing more than 150-feet tall with 36 enclosed gondolas. Visit at night to fully enjoy the Ferris wheel’s millions of multicolored lights synchronized with music.

Pavilion Park Action Park is located in the center of Broadway next to Guest Services. From the swinging pirate ship to the giant speed slide and the spinning swings, this portion of Pavilion Park is jam-packed with action, fun and speed.
