Inaugural Brookgreen Gardens Labor Day 5K | Brookgreen Gardens | September 5th
Start a new Labor Day tradition at the first-ever Brookgreen Gardens Labor Day 5K on September 5th. The event is hosted by NS Promos, organizers of other well-known events in the area include the MB Jeep Jam and Independence Day 5K. Strollers, walkers and runners are welcome at the event. Registration is open online now. The race will begin at 6:00 p.m. with sign-in starting at 5:00 p.m.
Annual Hospitality Golf Classic | Myrtle Beach National | September 10th
The 29th Annual Hospitality Golf Classic returns featuring a silent auction and prize giveaways throughout this exciting fall Myrtle Beach golf tournament. All are invited to participate with proceeds from the event going to benefit Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association educational programs. For those who wish to show off their long drive, registration is open until August 31st. The cost is $495 per foursome and includes a golf cart, green fees, lunch from Damon’s Grill and additional food and refreshments during the tournament. Festa Italiana | OSIA Lodge | September 17th – 18th & October 15th – 16th
This year’s Festa Italiana event will look different than those in years past. You can still enjoy tons of traditional Italian fare like sausage and pepper sandwiches, hand-rolled meatballs, fresh pizza and pasta, and plenty of sweet indulgences like cannoli, zeppole, tiramisu, biscotti and much more. Instead of a one-weekend event, organizers have planned two “drive-thru” events for the fall. Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival | Huntington Beach State Park | September 24th – 26th
This year marks the 46th anniversary of the annual Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival as it returns to an in-person event! Local and regional artists representing various genres will be present. Guests can look forward to seeing everything from handmade jewelry and paintings to sculptures, metal and glass work – and everything in between. There will also be live entertainment, food and drink vendors and kids’ crafts throughout the weekend. The cost is only $15 per adult, which is good for admission for the entire weekend. Irish Italian International Festival | Main Street, North Myrtle Beach | September 25th
A seemingly odd pair, Ireland and Italy, unite once a year for this annual match made in culinary heaven. Indulge in tasty traditional fare from both countries like handmade meatballs, pasta dishes, antipasto, shepherd’s pie, corned beef and cabbage, bangers and mash and plenty of desserts. The afternoon will also include two live entertainment stages, a spaghetti eating contest, kids games and activities, arts and crafts vendors and roaming street entertainers. Take the short drive to Surfside Beach for the Inaugural Celebrate Surfside Beach Festival on September 25th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event is slated to have fun for the whole family with live entertainment, a dunking booth, food trucks, kids activities and more. Proceeds from the event are being donated to the South Carolina United Turtle Enthusiasts group. Admission is FREE for all. 16th Annual Little River ShrimpFest | Historic Little River Waterfront | October 9th – 10th
Fresh seafood lovers are sure to enjoy this shrimp-tastic celebration! Nosh on creative shrimp concoctions from a variety of local food vendors and restaurants as you take in the waterfront views and enjoy live entertainment, family-friendly games and much more! 42nd Annual Loris Bog-Off Festival | Downtown Loris | October 16th
For those unfamiliar, “bog” is short for chicken bog, a traditional South Carolina dish featuring rice slow-cooked with chicken, chicken stock, sausage, and spices. Some refer to this dish as chicken perlo, but no matter what you call it, this classic dish is a favorite among natives, locals and visitors. As you might imagine, this festival celebrates this special Carolina dish as area restaurants put their unique twist on the original recipe. The bog-off will feature a cooking competition, kids’ games and events, a car show, and local craft vendors. The fun kicks off at 9:00 a.m. and continues until 9:00 p.m. This festival is FREE to attend and will take place on Main Street in Loris, approximately 30 miles northwest of Sea Crest Oceanfront Resort.
4th Annual Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam | Myrtle Beach | October 29th – 31st
Jump in your Jeep and head to the beach for the 4th Annual MB Jeep Jam. This 3-day event is filled with fun and entertainment including an off-road obstacle course, kids zone, live entertainment, food trucks, scavenger hunts, raffles and more. Sign up your Jeep online or simply enjoy the event as a spectator for FREE. All proceeds will benefit the Special Operations Wounded Warriors Foundation. Event times are 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Friday and 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The event’s location is the site of the former Myrtle Square Mall at 2501 North Kings Hwy.
37th Annual Taste of the Town | Myrtle Beach Convention Center | November 2nd
Taste of the Town is an annual affair adored by many visitors and locals alike – and it’s not hard to see why! The 2021 event is back in person at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center with a small entrance fee of $5 (if purchased in advance) or $6 (if purchased at the door). Kids age 14 and under are FREE. This mouthwatering event will host more than 30 of the area’s top restaurants, all serving up their finest tapas-style fare. Guests will purchase tickets ($1 each) that can be traded for food samples from the vendors of their choice. The event will also include live entertainment, family games and activities and a silent auction to benefit St. Andrew Catholic School. Brew at the Zoo | Brookgreen Gardens | November 6th
This exciting Brookgreen Gardens event always draws a crowd of beer enthusiasts! Brew at the Zoo kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and provides guests with more than 30 regional craft beers to sample while they peruse the Lowcountry Zoo exhibits. Tickets are $50 and include a tasting glass and live entertainment throughout the evening. Food vendors will be on-site for guests who wish to purchase food. 17th Annual Oyster Roast | Murrells Inlet MarshWalk | November 20th
Get out and enjoy the agreeable fall weather at the MI2020 17th Annual Oyster Roast on the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk. Fresh, local “all-you-can-eat” oysters will be available while supplies last in the Wicked Tuna parking area between 11:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on November 20th.
