Under the Sea at Ripley’s Aquarium
The ocean is brought to life at Ripley’s Aquarium located in Broadway at the Beach. For a day filled with family fun check out the 85,000 square foot attraction, which is filled with marine life.
With a handful of different displays, Ripley’s aims to entertain and delight guests while fostering environmental education.
Visit the Living Gallery to view a collection of undersea life like the Pacific Giant Octopus, sea anemones, living corals and jelly fish. Or check out the Rainbow Rock display, which shows off the bright colors of the rainbow that are found underwater in the Indo-Pacific coral reef.
If you’re interested in the behind the scenes action – stop at the Systems Control display which lets you take a look at the system that runs the aquarium and keeps all of the animals alive.
In the wild, stingrays spend most of their lives buried in the sand out of the view of predators and divers, but at the aquarium they relish the spotlight at Ray Bay, and will even eat out of the hands of our divers. Feeling daring? Take the opportunity to get up close and personal with one of these beautiful animals and touch a stingray as it soars by in Friendship Flats. If that wasn’t enough – you can stop into the Sea-For-Yourself Discovery Center and experience the thrill of holding a horseshoe crab!
But you don’t want to touch all of the animals on display! Follow a moving 340-foot long glide-path known as the Dangerous Reef. As you wind your way through the acrylic tunnel you’ll come face to face with snappers, tarpons, grunts, squirrelfish, a green sea turtle, giant stingrays, sawfish and even SHARKS!
The Ripley’s Aquarium is open 365 days a year – so stop by the website to plan your visit or purchase tickets online.
