The Food is Always Delicioso at Bandito’s
Bandito's is the one of latest restaurant/bar additions to the Myrtle Beach oceanfront, and one of the biggest and best. Resembling a Moorish castle on the north end of the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, Bandito's offers a large outdoor porch overlooking the Atlantic Ocean with excellent views, food and frozen drinks. Locally owned (including former CCU golfer turned PGA Tour star Dustin Johnson), Bandito's has quickly become a local hot spot since opening in 2012.
Bandito's has all the traditional Mexican favorites—tacos, burritos, and nachos—but also features a strong lineup of creative Caribbean dishes and local seafood items. Soups, salads and starters, like the Fuego Shrimp Tostada with fried shrimp, tropical salsa and a spicy cilantro-lime aioli atop a crispy tostada, are plentiful enough to make a meal. Bandito's also serves a wide range of sandwiches, burgers and quesadillas that are perfect for lunch on the beach, but the dinner menu gets down right creative--the Popino Grouper topped with southwestern slaw, spicy mango and fried plantains and the Chimichuran Steak marinated in a special blend of spices and grilled to perfection. Bandito's also specializes in frozen drinks and the full bar features a broad selection of beers and more than 100 brands of tequilas.
The 3,000-square foot building is impressive, but the best seats are on the back porch. Featuring a large deck with a stage for live bands, the patio turns into a party almost every sunny day and warm night. Not to worry if it's chilly out; the indoor seating area also includes great ocean views. The mood is lively and festive and the decor may make you feel like you're in the tropics.
